Warren was born March 20, 1953 in Loma Linda. In August 1973, he married his sweetheart Cheryl LaRee Venable. While attending Brigham Young University, Warren fell in love with Utah. He moved to Cedar City and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in communications from Southern Utah State College.

Warren was a nationally recognized historical document dealer, a forensics document examiner, award-winning magazine writer and photographer, and the author of "Owning Western History." In recent years, Warren and his partner Steve Miner, hosted the award winning radio talk show, "The Story Behind the Story."

A lover of Utah history and the outdoors, Warren was most happy when he was exploring Utah's ghost towns, abandoned mines, and wild caves --usually with his two brothers or his children.

Warren is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his children, Jessica Anderson of the Netherlands, Derek Anderson, Carly Anderson, Staci Anderson, and Chanel Anderson, all of Cedar City, his father Gerald Anderson of Provo, Utah and brothers, Perry Anderson of Heber, Utah, and Tim Anderson of Provo, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mesa Hills Ward Church 1925 West 320 South, Ceder City, UT. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Zions Bank in memory of Warren, to be used for a tree memorial for Cedar Parks & Recreation. Warren, for all of us who were lucky to grow up with you in Banning, and for those who remained close to you after high school, you have always been an inspiration to us. We will miss you. But we will see you again, my friend, when we are called home to join all of our loved ones and friends who have gone before us.
